Styled in a metal-appropriate black flat finish, the Iron Label RGIR30BE from Ibanez is an electric guitar with a mahogany body fashioned in a sleek, double-cutaway design. Its bolt-on, three-piece maple/bubinga neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets and a 25.5" scale.
For electronics, this guitar utilizes two active EMG pickups: The EMG 60 in the neck—which packs a classic thick tone with boosted mids, big lows, fat highs, and lots of output—and the EMG 81 in the bridge position, which provides ample high end, detailed intensity, and plenty of sustain. A volume knob controls the overall level, a pickup switch lets you choose your tonal configuration, and a kill switch allows you to mute the volume with the flick of your fingers, thereby creating the stuttering effects of a guitar hero like Tom Morello. The strings are secured by an Edge-Zero II tremolo bridge, which allows you to perform significant whammy moves, and with its stud luck function, it can also be locked in place to mitigate tuning issues. With a guitar such as this, you won't only look the part for any metal outfit—you'll sound the part too.
